Press Release, 6 February 2021

06 Feb, 2021

Dear Owners, Partners, Sponsors, Staff and the Community of Saint Lucia,

As Covid-19 grips Saint Lucia our thoughts are with each and every one of you. The Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club continues to monitor the evolving situation as the island moves into curfew. Our Club remains unequivocal in its support of the advice handed down by the Ministry of Health. Like you, we sincerely hope the national actions arrest the climbing numbers and save lives.

Throughout the pandemic, our staff have been adhering to strict protocols to minimize the spreading of the virus and in recent days we have further tightened our internal protocols in keeping with the advice issued by the Ministry of Health. The safety and well-being of our staff is paramount as is that of the wider community.

The pandemic has presented significant challenges for almost a year now. However, the Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club remains dedicated to the continuation of horse racing and to providing the community with quality live entertainment in an environment that is safe to all participants. The long-standing coronavirus protocols have ensured it has not been possible to do this since February 2020.

The escalation of cases in 2021 and further tightening of protocols makes it challenging to confirm when we will be allowed to again welcome the community onto our track. But Covid-19 will only be overcome with a collective effort and a strong community response. We are proud to be part of your community and we look forward to being able to welcome you back when it is safe to do so.

Stay vigilant at this time. Stay safe.
