The Helen of the West
7. The Slot Licensors will conduct a race called The Helen of the West (the “Support Feature”) run
over a distance of 7 furlongs (1400 meters) on dirt on Friday 13th December 2019 (or such other
date confirmed by the Slot Licensors by 1st December 2019) at the Club, Saint Lucia, subject to
these terms and conditions.
8. The Support Feature is exclusively open to Slot Licensees and the horses they select (“Selected
Horse”) from a pool of horses chosen by the Club.
9. The Support Feature will be conducted under the Rules and Regulations of Racing. A copy of these
rules is available on request.
10. The selection of the 12 horses for the Support Feature is at the absolute discretion of the Club.
a. All 12 Selected Horses will be vetted by the Club’s veterinarian prior to confirmation. A
vet certificate will be provided on the wellbeing of every selected horse dated within
seven (7) days prior to the drawing of lots.
b. Slot Licensees will be drawn by lot by the Club Stewards. The chosen Slot Licensee
will be contacted by Stewards and asked to select their horse from the pool of horses.
c. The Selected Horses are guaranteed entry in the Support Feature, subject to terms
and conditions.
d. In the case of a Selected Horse being scratched by the Club’s veterinarian before Race
Acceptance, the Club has, at its discretion, the right to provide the Slot Licensee with
a replacement horse of similar standing should one be available. The selection of a
replacement horse will be at absolute discretion of the Club.
e. In the case of a Selected Horse being scratched without a vet certificate from the Club’s
veterinarian, the Slot Licensee will forfeit their entry into the race and any right to prize
money.
11. The Support Feature will be run under in accordance with the weight scale tabled below:

12. The Support Feature will have a maximum of 12 starters.
